Everything Peachy at the Key West TweetUp #4

Each month my company Peach Promotions organizes local Twitter members in Key West to meet, network, discuss current social media ideas, and have fun!  In July, we decided to make it a fundraising event with the coral reef restoration program at Mote Marine Laboratory in Summerland Key and Key West.  Each member, donated an entry fee of $5 which included a free drink, some appetizers, and a Mote Aquarium beer coozie. All money received went to protecting and restoring Florida’s amazing coral reefs.

Carmen Rodriquez of Key West, Winner of the Slogan Contest!

We had a slogan contest where each participant had to come up with a slogan for the restaurant, Smokin Tuna.  The winner was to receive a gift bag from Mote Aquarium. Carmen Rodrigquez, a Key West Conch (born and raised in Key West) came up with the slogan, “If you’re a tuna, you better be smokin!” The judge for the contest was Charlie Bauer, Owner of Smokin Tuna Saloon. I’d like to thank Jason Wolf, Director of Development at Mote Marine Laboratory for his attendance and donating the gift bag and beer coozies. We all had such a wonderful time meeting him and learning about Mote’s important work for the beautiful coral reefs.  I’d also like to thank Charlie Bauer of Smokin Tuna Saloon for hosting the event and providing drinks and appetizers.

The next #Keywest #TweetUp is set for August 23, 2011. We will be discussing Google + and see how many people are using and liking it.  If you would like to attend, you may contact me at Kathypeachpromotions@gmail.com or visit www.Facebook.com/Peachpromotions. Hope to see you all there! Happy Tweeting.
